Every project starts with the details. That’s why our Detailing Department – complete with 14 3-D computer-aided design (CAD) stations covering three mechanical disciplines of piping, plumbing and sheet metal – is vital to each and every project we take on for our valued clients.
This department at ColonialWebb Contractors develops the shop drawings required to prefabricate your project along with generating the required drawings for field operations. By coordinating details on your project for any sheet metal, plumbing and piping drawings, the Detailing Department is able provide a complete bill of materials, identify additional value engineering and uncover problem areas to minimize field conflicts.
For many clients, ColonialWebb Contractors also coordinates with trades – such as civil, structural, sprinkler and electrical – to ensure “collision-free” results. Where post-tension and poured structures are used, sleeve drawings, duct, and pipe can be generated to ensure that sleeves are installed before pouring commences. This eliminates costly delays and x-rays for core drilling after the concrete is poured. It can also establish sleeve locations for a structural engineer’s review to ensure structural integrity is maintained.
In our drawing distribution center, we provide an array of services including the ability to supply overlays for all trades, color plots for clarity and the electronic exchange of large drawing files via e-mail.
