Position Title: Construction Superintendent
Location: Richmond, Norfolk and Harrisonburg, VA
Reports To: Construction Manager/Senior Project Manager
Primary Functions:
The Construction Superintendent is directly responsible for the overall field management and planning of a ColonialWebb construction project. This responsibility includes the day-to-day management of the foremen, mechanics, helpers, and sub-contractors. He/She is solely responsible for ensuring that all work activities performed are in accordance with applicable contractual agreements and within project budgets.
Authority:
The Construction Superintendent has authority over all foremen, mechanics and helpers. Acting in the interest of the Company and using independent judgment,he/she recommends and has authority over hires, transfers, suspensions, lay offs, recalls, promotions, discharges, assignments, rewards, and discipline for project specific employees assigned to him/her.
Requirements:
- Ability to command and make decisions without the need for direct supervision.
- Assumes full responsibility and ownership of all field activities, inclusive of our self- performed work (sheet metal, piping, plumbing, insulation and electrical), and of our sub-contracted work. Coordinates and provides scheduling input, and oversees work performed by other groups within our company (manufacturing, start up/commissioning).
- Ability to handle day-to-day tasks relating to work assignments, recruiting, and asset management.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers and employees
- Ability to effectively utilize all forms of communication and documentation.
- Extensive experience in handling personnel issues.
- Full competency in specified trade(s) with excellent administrative and analytical skills.

- Knowledge of applicable current International Codes.
- Must take full ownership in CW Safety Program ensuring that all work performed by our employees and our sub-contractors is performed safely and within company and OSHA standards.
- Trade experience of 15 years with a minimum of 10 years in supervision and a solid background in and knowledge of building construction.
- Ability to develop a plan for the project’s entire mechanical scope prior to its start.

Specific Duties:
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with company standards working with the Construction Manager and Project Managers to deliver optimum results.
- Monitor and control manpower, tools and equipment to ensure efficient and effective use of all company resources.
- Review weekly report of costs incurred; identify problems and implement plan for improvement.
- Review field production daily and validate that it meets or exceeds estimated production levels. If achieved production is less than estimated, determine reasons and implement corrective action to attain required, estimated levels.
- Provide necessary technical and management assistance during the performance of day-to-day work activities.
- Plan our work in conjunction with other trades, including coordination meetings with customers, general contractors and sub-contractors.
- Conduct performance reviews with field employees initiating requests for pay increases, if warranted; enforcing company policies and administering discipline as required.
- Monitor and control the implementation of safety policies and the adherence thereof; attend safety and accident review meetings in an effort to continuously enhance current safety policies and employee practices.
- Attend meetings with Construction Manager, Project Managers and Division Manager reviewing the work status, cost overruns, potential change orders, manpower allocations, permits and inspections, equipment orders, and any other issues that may be of importance; monitor all job costs on a consistent basis to ensure that field performance meets or exceeds budget requirements.
- Assist with the development of a fully man-loaded Primavera project schedule.
- Seek out and find field work that can be pre-fabricated in our manufacturing facility. Once determined, work closely with detailing and manufacturing to ensure that the prefabricated work arrives onsite as required.
- Responsible for continuously recruiting, hiring and training journeymen, apprentices and helpers to insure our manpower requirements and growth initiatives are met.
- Maintain a full understanding of contract provisions and the scope of work. Notify, advise and document all impacts to project progress and cost.
Position Title: Project Engineer – Construction
Location: Richmond, VA
Reports To: Senior Project Manager - Construction
Primary Function:
The Project Engineer provides technical engineering information to the Project Manager and Construction Superintendents to insure work complies with engineering standards.
Authority:
The Project Engineer derives his/her authority from and reports to the Senior Project Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of building materials, engineering standards and codes.
Specific Duties:
- Maintain project documents.
- Assist Senior Project Manager by providing information to Construction Manager for job Superintendent, to Fabrication Division and to Start-Up.
- Assist Senior Project Manager by providing information to Detailing Department and obtaining information from General Contractor and other trades for detailing department and Construction Manager.
- Review submittal data for compliance with contract documents.
- Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager in equipment, subcontract and material purchasing and scheduling.
- Assist Project Manager and Construction Manager in interpreting and communicating the schedule.
- Assist Project Manager in expediting deliveries.
- Maintain RFI log, submittal log, and rack set of documents with administrative team.
- Develop and submit RFI’s.

Position Title: Account Executive
Location: Charlotte, NC - Richmond, Manassas, Norfolk, Newport News, Harrisonburg and Winchester, VA
Reports To: Sales Manager
Primary Functions:
- Develop new base business with focus on monthly and annual quotas.
- Under sales responsibility, supervise the maintenance of healthy customer relationships.
- Assume responsibility for certain existing customers’ relationships as assigned by the Sales Manager.

The Account Executive derives his/her authority from and reports to a Sales Manager.

Specific Duties:
- Ensure that all sales activities are performed in accordance with company practices through the effective use of time management.

- Perform research and make client contact to identify and prioritize potential customers.
- Prepare and implement business development action plans for targeted customers.
- Develop and prepare estimates, proposals and presentations.
- The time commitment to Maintenance Agreement sales will be 80 percent of the customer workweek. The customer workweek is defined as those hours when the customer is at work. The remaining hours are to be spent on paperwork and estimating, and those approved project opportunities.
- Call expectation will be a minimum of 20 per week. A call is defined as a visit to the facility, not a phone call.
- Attend weekly meetings with the sales manager in order to provide update on sales objectives, review individual results, and develop short-term forecasts.
- Review weekly reports to monitor sales results in comparison to quotas. Develop plans and take actions where required to obtain necessary results. Work to maximize individual strengths while using teamwork to offset weaknesses.
- Attend meetings as necessary with current and future customers to ensure healthy relationships and/or successful business development. Coordinate with ColonialWebb personnel to maintain strong customer relationships.
- Attend company meetings and/or sales meetings as required.
- Perform additional assignments as requested by the sales manager.
Position Title: Field Supervisor/Foreman
Location: Richmond and Manassas, VA
Reports To: Department Manager
Primary Functions:
The Field Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of all Field Team Supervisors of which he/she has been assigned. In the event that Team Supervisors have not been assigned, he/she has direct responsibility over all craft technicians of which assigned. He/She is responsible for ensuring that the quality of work is performed in accordance with company standards, and that such work is performed within a budget in an efficient and effective manner within.
Authority:
The Field Supervisor has direct authority over all Field Team Supervisors and their subordinates.
Requirements:
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
- Work within precise standards of accuracy; make decisions based on measurable criteria; and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans to drawings.
- Physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands; lift and carry objects weighing up to 150 pounds; see well (either naturally or with correction); climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety regulations.
- Normal industry experience in the same field of 10 years with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm, when handling emergencies.
- Ability to successfully supervise a work force of up to 20 personnel.
- Possess applicable trade certifications.
Specific Duties:
- Train and supervise all department personnel of which he/she has been assigned; recruit and hire as necessary to ensure the availability of manpower required to perform the assigned services.
- Conduct employee evaluations on all personnel of which he/she has been assigned, including Team Supervisors and their subordinates; initiate recommendations for pay increases, if warranted, through the Department Manager.
- Perform consultations with employees not performing in accordance with company objectives; enforce disciplinary and termination policies, as required.
- Perform random quality control inspections on services performed ensuring they are performed in a timely and professional manner.
- Enforce all company policies as they relate to safety, vehicle usage and care, administrative tasks, personnel issues and work practices through the guidance of the Department Manager.
- Provide technical and supervisory assistance to all Team Supervisors of which he/she has been assigned ensuring that proper work procedures are utilized.
- Assist the Service Sales personnel on major estimates for equipment installations and replacements.
- Maintain effective communication with customer representatives for jobs of which he/she has been assigned.
- Contact customers on complaints and call-backs - 1st call-back requires a call to the customer; 2nd call-back requires a visit with the customer.
- Provide the leadership and guidance necessary for the overall career development of the employees of which he/she has been assigned.
- Make recommendations to the Department Manager on issues such as tool purchases, policy changes, work procedures, employee training and departmental manpower requirements.
- Provide technical and supervisory assistance to all employees of which he/she has been assigned ensuring that proper procedures are utilized.
- Perform take-off of jobs which he/she has been assigned; forward material requirements to proper administrative personnel for order placement.
- Maintain all budget objectives on jobs of which he/she has been assigned; perform weekly reviews with Department Manager to address problems that may arise and review performance levels.
- Assist the Department Manager in determining manpower allocations and coordinating all field activities through the Team Supervisor.

Position Title: HVAC Service Technician
Location: Richmond, Norfolk, Newport News, Roanoke, Harrisonburg and Manassas, VA - Charlotte, NC
Reports To: Service Team Supervisor
Primary Functions:
The primary responsibility of the HVAC Service Technician is to perform maintenance and repair operations pertaining to medium to large, complex, heating and cooling systems and associated control systems. He/She is responsible for maintaining the quality of work at acceptable company standards, and for representing the company to the customer in a manner that ensures effective communication and a positive relationship.
Authority:
The HVAC Service Technician normally derives his authority from and reports to the Service Team Supervisor. If a Building Service Team Supervisor has not been assigned, he/she will report to the Service Unit Supervisor. He/She has direct authority over apprentices and helpers upon assignment.
Requirements:
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
- Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy; make decisions based on measurable criteria; and comprehend technical data.
- Physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands; lift and carry objects weighing up to 150 pounds; see well (either naturally or with correction); climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety regulations.
- Normal industry experience in the same field or 3 years experience working as a Service Technician.
- Should possess HVAC Journeyman or Master’s license.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm, when handling emergencies.
- Possess EPA approved CFC Certification.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure adherence to proper departure and arrival procedures throughout the workday.
- Maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times. This applies to the person as well as his/her truck, tools, and equipment.
- Obtain purchase orders and make small purchases required during the performance of work, including maintaining sufficient standard truck inventory; conduct inventory of all standard truck stock as required.
- Maintain consistent compliance with company policies and procedures as they relate to proper completion of departmental documentation such as, but not limited to, time cards, work orders, refrigerant accountability logs, and material and equipment return tags.
- Keep the service coordinator informed at all times as to “where he/she is,” “where he/she has been,” and “where he/she is going.”
- Attend periodic meetings with supervisor as required to review work progress and potential problems felt to be beyond his/her ability or authority.
- Maintain strict adherence to all company safety rules and practices.
- Maintain all CW and customer property in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
- Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components; primary area of expertise is systems requiring average technical skills on rooftop HVAC units, heat pumps, DX systems, and pneumatic and electrical control systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspection tasks as defined in each maintenance agreement maintaining strict adherence to all budget objectives; obtain clearly defined directives from the Service Coordinator on the specific tasks to be performed; assist the coordinator in scheduling such inspections based on location, man-hour requirements, priorities, customer coordination’s, and material pick-ups; maintain total responsibility for timely performance of maintenance inspections.
Position Title: Pipefitter/Welder
Location: Richmond and Manassas, VA
Reports To: Construction Foreman
Primary Functions :
The Pipefitter/Welder is responsible for laying out, fabricating, assembling, welding and installing various types of piping systems. He/She is responsible for maintaining the quality of his/her work at acceptable company standards, and for representing the company to the customer in a manner that promotes open communication and positive relationships.
Authority:
The Pipefitter/Welder derives his/her authority from and reports to the Construction Foreman. In the event a Construction Foreman has not been assigned, he/she will report to the Unit Supervisor. He/She has direct authority over assigned apprentices and helpers.
Requirements:
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
- Work within precise standards of accuracy; make decisions based on measurable criteria; and visualize objects in three dimensions from plans to drawings.
- Physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands; lift and carry objects weighing up to 150 pounds; see well (either naturally or with correction); climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety regulations.
- Normal industry experience in the same field of 4 to 6 years.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.

- Possess applicable welding certifications.

- Study building plans and working drawings to determine the tools and equipment required and the sequence of installations.
- Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
- Cut pipes using hacksaw, pipe cutters, hammer and chisel, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine; lay out, position, align, assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipe and pipefittings including those made of copper, brass, glass and plastic - applying knowledge of geometry and physical properties of pipe.
- Join pipe by means of threaded, caulked, wiped, welded, soldered, brazed, fuzzed or cemented joints, secure pipe to structures with clamps, brackets and hangers; tests piping systems for leaks.
- Perform any other task needed to ensure the proper installation and repair of piping equipment and components.

The Electrician is responsible for installing and repairing electrical systems, control systems and components. He/She is responsible for maintaining the quality of his work at acceptable company standards, and for representing the company to the customer in a manner that promotes open communication and positive relationships.
Authority:
The Electrician derives his/her authority from and reports to the Special Projects Team Supervisor. In the even a Special Projects Team Supervisor has not been assigned, he/she is to report to the Special Projects Unit Supervisor. He/She has direct authority over apprentices and helpers upon assignment.
Requirements:
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with customers.
- Work within precise standards of accuracy; make decisions based on measurable criteria; read and interpret electrical diagrams.
- Physically capable of working easily and skillfully with hands; lift and carry objects weighing up to 150 pounds; see well (either naturally or with correction); climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds; and stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Knowledge of current National Electrical Code and OSHA safety regulations.
- Normal industry experience in the same field of 4 to 6 years or completion of an approved apprenticeship program.
- Ability to coordinate and perform multiple activities in a timely manner.
- Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, but remain calm, when handling emergencies.
- Possess applicable electrical certifications.
Specific Duties:

- Perform installation and repair of various types of electrical systems and equipment such as, but not limited to relays, starters, switches, motors, motor control centers, switchgear, transformers, power distribution centers and associated over current protection, heat tracing systems, and cable and cable trays; determine conduit sizes, pull conductors, make termination’s, and install junction boxes.
