Government

Project:
National Ground Intelligence Center, Virginia

The Challenge:
The government originally constructed the National Ground Intelligence Center as a secure building for the Army Corps of Engineers. The client asked ColonialWebb Contractors to install a central plant for the 258,000-square-foot project, which used only metric calculations.

Our Approach:
ColonialWebb established a central plant that consisted of:

  • 1,050 tons of cooling and hot water boilers
  • Two large rooftop custom air handling units
  • Ductwork
  • Piping
  • DDC control system
  • Plumbing systems

Since the project called for specific measurement requirements, we coordinated and submitted information that needed to be developed into and installed using metric units.

To ensure the system’s integrity, ColonialWebb worked closely with the products’ agents to perform a rigorous and complete commissioning check of each individual mechanical component.
