Healthcare

Project:
Medical College of Virginia Hospital, Richmond, Virginia

The Challenge:
With increasing worldwide attention on the spread and treatment of infectious diseases, MCVH began considering its response if faced with a local outbreak. Knowing that it would serve the greater Richmond area, MCVH realized the need for an isolation area for contagious patients. An existing wing of the hospital would be renovated for this purpose.

The client need the project completed in 60 days. In this time ColonialWebb Contractors was able design/build an HVAC system that was entirely separate from all the other systems in the hospital.

Our Approach:
ColonialWebb assembled a team of engineers and a general contractor to figure out the best strategy.

Our plan called for the installation of all new make-up air and exhaust systems that would use special HEPA filtration and all new VAV boxes throughout the renovated wing.

With an extraordinary installation team, we worked within a schedule that few in our industry would find realistic. ColonialWebb completed the project in just 58 days to total customer satisfaction.
