Project:
LifeNet, Virginia Beach, Virginia
The Challenge:
LifeNet is a nonprofit organization dedicated to human organ and tissue recovery, transportation and research. As the company began to grow, officials developed plans to build a much larger facility. In the meantime LifeNet leased nearby space but needed to renovate the building to suit its purposes.
ColonialWebb Contractors was selected to help construct a 20,000 square-foot clean room environment. The design/build project had to be finished, from design to completion, in only 90 days.
Our Approach:
To execute the entire project in three months, ColonialWebb amassed a highly skilled team that thoroughly planned the details and management of the task.
The space allowed for four separate clean rooms, an incoming corridor and an outgoing corridor – all with dedicated HVAC systems. We supplied each system with conditioned make-up air by an additional system. All elements included special air distribution and filtration. We designed the entire process to be managed by direct digital controls.
We also established process air and gas piping, plumbing, integrated life safety, and structural steel platform work to physically support the entire installation.
ColonialWebb completed the project on time and now provides contracted maintenance services.
